The Barcelona Process, also known as the Euro-Mediterranean Partnership, is a program of cooperation between the European Union and 15 countries in the Mediterranean region. It was launched in 1995 to promote political and economic cooperation, as well as cultural and social ties, between the EU and its Mediterranean partners.
