Professionals Working with Families Should

Professionals working with families should:

A) Reflect on their own values and culture, avoid stereotypes, combine ideas from different value systems to arrive at solutions and communicate regularly with families.
B) Draw on generalizations to prepare to work with families from other cultures, explain why things are done a certain way at school and how the family can comply with that strategy at home.
C) Explain to families why they should not seek religious cures to disabilities, ask them to explain their religious views so that you can better understand another family in the same faith and communicate regularly.
