Displaying driver licenses on phones may become acceptable in the near future, but that future just isn't here yet. Some states are already looking into it for highway and road patrol purposes, but that doesn't mean it will become acceptable in bars and restaurants any time soon. Until there are ways to ensure that the ID displayed on the phone is definitely not a fake, only accept the standard, physical version of ID cards for now.
