In the years following World War II, remaining members of the Nazi leadership were tried in Nuremberg, Germany. Nuremberg was chosen as the site of the military tribunals because of its significance during Nazi rule - many of the laws the Nazis designed to strip Jews of their civil rights were passed in Nuremberg.
