As of January 30, 2012, CDL drivers who have a current medical certificate on file are not required to carry a copy of the certificate. This is a new change to the law, which previously did require all CDL drivers to have their certificate on their person at all times. Keep in mind, however, that drivers are still responsible for seeing that their medical certificates are kept current and updated.
