Federal judges who are impeached are tried by the Senate. The House of Representatives acts as the prosecutor in the trial, and the Senate acts as the jury. If two-thirds of the Senate votes to convict the judge, they are removed from office. If the judge is also convicted of a crime, they may be subject to further punishment, including fines and imprisonment. They do not receive their salary for life and it is not up to the President to remove them from office.
