Lilly Ledbetter was the plaintiff in an eventual U.S. Supreme Court case regarding equal pay for women. While a supervisor and manager at the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Plant from 1979 to 1998, she was cheated of earnings because she was not paid on par with her male counterparts, who had the same or lesser qualifications, education, and experience.
