Prior to or After Application of a Taping, Wrapping, Bracing

Prior to or after application of a taping, wrapping, bracing, and/or padding technique, if a patient experiences shortness of breath and/or an increase in pain, you should:

A) instruct the patient to place the ipsilateral arm across the abdomen.
B) remove the technique and reapply it.
C) loosen the anchors and/or straps of the technique.
D) suspect a serious injury/condition and immediately refer the patient to a physician.
