To help the client with dementia, the nursing assistant (NA) helps the client find their room by pointing out items on their door that are familiar to the client. The NA could show the client a picture of their daughter and state, "This is your daughter Cindy, and she is here to visit you." By doing this right before the daughter enters the client may be able to briefly say their daughter's name and the visit will go much better than leaving the client without an action to help their memory.
