The Venturi mask delivers 24% to 50% oxygen and is adjustable via a valve on the bottom of the mask. The valve pieces are color coded for amount of oxygen delivered and the setting at which the oxygen flowmeter must be set for that amount. It also does not allow rebreathing of carbon dioxide, which is advantageous to people with COPD. The holes in the simple face mask allow the client to inhale room air mixed with supplemental oxygen; however carbon dioxide can be retained if the oxygen flow is not high enough. The non-rebreather mask delivers 60% to 100% oxygen. The open face tent can deliver between 21% and 40% oxygen.
