Perceptual constancy is the ability of our brain to perceive objects as constant in size, shape, color, and so on, despite changes in their appearance due to variations in distance, angle, lighting, etc. In the case of the parked cars, our brain automatically adjusts to the distance and size cues in the visual input, and applies the knowledge that cars are usually larger than toys, to perceive them as their actual size. Hence, it is an example of perceptual constancy.
