Imitation of others is the basis for most human learning, as humans learn by observing and mimicking the behaviors and actions of those around them. This includes language acquisition, social and cultural norms, and basic life skills. Genetic programming certainly plays a role in human development, but does not necessarily form the basis for learning. Learning by trial and error and self-exploration are important methods of learning, but are not as fundamental as observation and imitation.
