The economic structure of the Early Middle Ages was predominantly agricultural and underdeveloped. Trade did not completely disintegrate but it did decline significantly. Feudalism did not replace manorialism as they were both part of the economic structure of the Middle Ages. The free peasant class did become more limited in their mobility and opportunities, but not all of them became serfs. There was not necessarily a shift from gold to silver coinage during this time.
