The America First Committee was formed by isolationist Americans who opposed U.S. involvement in World War II. The group was a powerful lobby against U.S. intervention in the war and argued that the United States should focus on its own interests instead of getting involved in foreign conflicts. The committee was strongly opposed by President Franklin D. Roosevelt, as well as by both major political parties.
