Task cohesion, or the degree to which the team is committed to achieving its goals and objectives, has been found to be the most predictive aspect of team performance. Social cohesion (the degree to which team members like each other and get along) and length of time team has been together may also have some impact, but are not as strongly predictive as task cohesion. Social loafing, or the tendency for some team members to put in less effort when working in a group, is actually detrimental to team performance.
