Each testis has an outer fibrous capsule called the tunica albuginea. Inside this capsule, the testis is divided into 250 to 300 wedge-shaped lobules. Each lobule contains 1 to 4 seminiferous tubules. These tubules lead to a network of ducts called the rete testis located posteriorly in the testes, still within the fibrous capsule. The scrotum is a pendulous sac that houses the testes.
