As of my last update in 2023, teachers at the kindergarten through high school level can deduct up to $300 of out-of-pocket expenses for classroom supplies on their taxes for the year 2022. If both spouses are educators and file jointly, they can deduct up to $600. The amount was previously $250 before being adjusted for inflation.
