Methohexital is an ultrashort-acting barbiturate that induces general anesthesia within 30 seconds. It is efficiently cleared by the liver and does not result in tissue redistribution. Methohexital, propofol, etomidate, midazolam, diazepam, and lorazepam decrease intracranial pressure and cerebral blood flow.
