This led to a coalition of 16 countries under US leadership to intervene and support South Korea. Truman did not declare war on North Korea, and Stalin did not tell North Korea to stop their aggression. The Soviets did attempt to use their veto in the Security Council, but they were boycotting the council at the time, so the resolution passed without opposition.
