The ADA allows physical ability tests to be given to applicants as long as the tests are job-related, and do not discriminate against individuals with disabilities. The Act does not make it impossible for an employer to find out if an applicant is physically able to do a job until a conditional job offer has been made. The Act also does not require employers to hire applicants who can perform only most of the core functions of a job.
