The battle took place in Montana, not Wyoming. The entire Seventh Cavalry was not destroyed, although a significant portion of the regiment was killed, including Custer. The Dakotas were already experiencing prolonged warfare before the battle, and Geronimo was not involved as he was a leader of the Apache tribe, not the Sioux. Sitting Bull was a prominent leader in the battle, along with Crazy Horse.
