On a cold winter day,Maya slipped on the icy sidewalk at the entrance to Wes's shop.Maya injured her ankle as a result of the fall,and Wes hired a taxi to take Maya to the hospital to have her injured ankle examined.On the way to the hospital another vehicle collided with the taxi,and Maya was seriously injured.
-The injured ankle was the proximate cause of Maya's more serious injury in the automobile accident,because Wes had hired the taxi to send her to the hospital.
