In Chapter 2, the Schachter and Singer study was described in which the researchers injected subjects with epinephrine to see if the participants would mislabel their arousal to be similar to that of another person in the room. Dutton and Aron extended this work to see if people misattribute their arousal to another person-an attractive experimenter waiting at the end of a swaying, unsteady bridge. Design a replication of the Dutton and Aron swaying-bridge study that takes place in another arousing setting. Describe the independent variables (the variable you are manipulating) and the dependent variable (the measure of the subjects' behavior) and any control variable you may want to add.
