Elias tells you, his clinician, that he wants to end the work you are doing because he doesn't feel he is getting anything out of it. You should immediately:

A) Tell him you respect his decision, that you are glad he could tell you that this will be your last session, and leave on a positive note by wishing him luck in the future.
B) Ask him to tell you what is not working for him and explore the issues.
C) Tell him you disagree and that you think there is work you can do together, and give him some examples.
D) Tell him that you think this desire of his to end your relationship is part of an old pattern he has of breaking off relationships.
