You are a Virginia state trooper whohas been on the job for roughly four years. over the course of those four years, you have been asked topatrol a very rural area of the southwestern part of your state. over the course of your four years, you have responded toone particular home where the husband and wife have continually engaged in abusive behavior towards one another, both physical and verbal. However, it appears that the wife tends tobe the aggressor when she is drinking. You receive a call from dispatch that the neighbors have reported the couple has been screaming at each other for over twohours. At this point, you are concerned with how tohandle the situation. The last time you arrested both parties, since each had visible injuries. However, the prosecutor refused tofile official charges against the couple and told you "not towaste his time with these types of cases ever again." With that in mind, what doyou do?
