Once a team achieves a "well -functioning" status it important to employ strategies that are designed to maintain the team process and to continue to facilitate growth. These are termed generative practices. As future leaders it is important that you understand these practices and are prepared to implement them. Appreciative inquiry is an approach to personal and organizational change based on the belief that the study of what is positive about individuals and systems will create positive images and actions in those systems.The appreciative inquiry process is a four-stage cycle that includes:

A) Setting a goal, developing an action plan, implementing the plan, evaluating the outcome.
B) Discovery, dream, design, destiny.
C) Individual perceptions, leader input, negotiation, group consensus.
D) Individual perceptions, group input, organizational input, community input.
