It is not beneficial to wear a polarized lens in circumstances where you need to know where glare is or are looking at another polarized object.
Since a polaroid lens reduces glare, it will eliminate being able to see trouble spots as in when driving on icy roads, skiing where there is ice, trying to land in water.
Polarized lenses are polarized vertically to reduce the most glare.
Many instrument panels in planes and heavy equipment trucks use LCD screens.
LCD (liquid crystal displays) screens also contain polarization. If the LCD is presented using the polarization vertically as well, the screen and the glasses will cancel each other out and you will see only black.
