Flashbulb memories refer to rich, detailed memories of emotional events. These memories are typically more detailed, complete and less prone to being forgotten than other memories of past events. In this example, Fred clearly remembers several details of an event that happened several years ago. It is unlikely that he remembers such details of less emotionally charged events. Interestingly, flashbulb memories are not always as accurate as the individual believes they are.
