It is likely that within a large and complex organisation there may be an overall collective climate, but also several subclimates. In some parts of the company, the atmosphere may be more relaxed and congenial than in others; better resources may be provided, leading individuals to feel more supported in their work, and decisions may be made more democratically. These factors can create differential climate perceptions in various units or departments of an organisation. Think of the departments in which you have taken courses in your university. Do they exhibit different 'atmospheres' and, if so, what are the differences that you have observed in their climates?
