-wanted to start a baseball team, but we didn't have no place to play and hardly no money for gear. We began looking at all the public parks very careful to see if one would suit our needs more appropriate than another one. We finally decided on the new park just outside of town and got permission from the Parks and Recreation services to play regular. We still had one more problem that we needed to solve real bad. We needed money for new gear. Mr. Hudson offered to sponsor us, but he wanted his son to get a guaranteed spot on the team. Since his son throws a ball more slower than a snail, we decided to pass. Finally we decided to raise the money ourselves. After doing odd jobs in our neighborhoods for about two weeks, we had enough money to buy what we needed. Now we have a place to play and new gear. We even decided to let Mr. Hudson's son play on our team when someone doesn't hardly feel good enough to play.
