A recent study applied the Vroom-Yetton-Jago normative decision model to the battlefield behavior of ten commanding generals in six major battles of the American Civil War.When the commanders acted consistently with the prescriptions of the model, they were more successful in accomplishing their military goals.The findings also suggested that:
