Joaquin is abducted by aliens and beamed up into their spaceship. The aliens hold up two fingers in a peace sign to let Joaquin know they do not intend to hurt him. Joaquin soon learns that the aliens can communicate with him in English, but they also communicate with one another in a different "language" using bird-like chirps.
