4. For persons with a high risk of disease such as those with diabetes, 10 mm ore more induration is considered positive. The skin test is read within 48 to 72 hours of administration. A positive or significant reaction is based on the degree of induration, not the redness around the site. In a person with normal immune function an area of induration of 15 mm or greater is considered significant.
