The Answer is The value chain is a generic model which breaks down the activities in an organization which take place to produce the product or service. These are split into primary activities and support activities. Primary activities are those that generate the income from the direct production of the product or service which is split into discrete elements - inbound logistics/operation/outbound logistics/ marketing/after sales. The support activities help the primary activities to work effectively and these are firm infrastructure, HRM, technology development and procurement.
