The first thing to notice is that this graph is backwards with regards to time (it starts with the dates that are furthest away from the flight and moves in the direction of dates that are closer to the date of the flight).
When the flight is 20 weeks away, the flight is less than $500. When the flight is one week away the flight is almost $1400. The flight increases in price with regards to time (the closer the date gets to the actual flight, the higher the price).
