As the GDP increases, so does the internet speed. This relationship is proportional.  This means that as one variable increases, the other also increases in response.
The opposite of this is when variables are inversely proportional. This means that when one variable increases, the other decreases.
This relationship is relatively linear. When a relationship between two variables is linear, the graph resembles a line. Although this data makes a very thick line (because the data points are not very close together), the function that would best represent this data would be a line.
This is compared to a function that levels off or increases slowly in the beginning. The slope of this one (the rate of change) remains relatively constant. When the relationship is not linear it does not resemble a line. In this case, the relationship is linear. As the GDP increases, the internet speed increases at a relatively constant rate.
